My hometown was in Stanly County, North Carolina, a rural community about 45 miles east of Charlotte. Wanting to stay in North Carolina, I attend Elon University and graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in Business.

During school I was introduced to the concept of real estate investing and developed a solid understanding of the real estate industry by working in and around the field. And because of my opportunity to travel and study abroad while at Elon, I developed a real appreciation of people and culture.

After graduation, I returned to the Charlotte, NC, area and was fortunate to participate in a “mentorship” with an experienced real estate investor.

This helped me expand my knowledge and experience in the investment end of the industry. I also took classes and earned my Real Estate License as a Broker in both North and South Carolina.

My background includes brokering numerous foreclosure and short sale transactions as well as managing large mixed use buildings.

Because of my dealings with different facets of real estate, I have a unique ability to troubleshoot tough real estate issues from many different angles. I graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and have since been involved in the real estate industry.

My brokerage experience has included dealing with banks on many levels from foreclosures and short sales to working with creative financing solutions. My responsibilities have included representing both sellers, including banks, and buyers in single-family, multi-family, condominium/townhouse, agricultural, and land transactions on the brokerage side. On the management side, responsibilities have included researching and contracting out work for large capital expenditures on mid & high rise buildings, serving as Board of Directors liaison, and managing/coordinating many unique projects that stem from managing buildings over time.

I recognize that my clients’ time is valuable which is why I seek to provide essential information by digging into the details and being upfront on all fronts as well as helping to guide expectations accordingly. My clients’ are well informed of their market before purchasing or placing their property on the market and they appreciate this upfront, no-nonsense approach during transactions.

I am excited about involving myself in the world of real estate brokerage in the Charlotte area. While I have lived on the outskirts of Charlotte for almost 30 years my earlier life was spent moving from home to home as an Air Force “Brat”. So, a “sense of place” has always been a significant goal in my life. I bring to Briley Burris and Associates an academic background as I Chair the Communication & Journalism Department at Pfeiffer University.

My career path has included teaching for the past 15 years, Directing Business and Industry Training in the Community College system, Directing a Career Center and a Small Business Center in the College and University environment. My education and experience has been around the practical application of communication principles with a special emphasis in Business and Life Coaching.

I offer this expertise to the dynamic culture of this young real estate firm and to you as a potential client.

Marissa Boyle

Marissa holds a B.S. in Financial Mathematics and Statistics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is a licensed Realtor in North Carolina. Recently, she has assisted a fund of investors research, acquire, repair, and manage a growing portfolio of  single-family homes in Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas. She specializes in the purchase of distressed real estate through REO’s, short sales, and foreclosures.

Previously, she worked as a full-time research analyst for a private money management firm. Her interest include travel, education, water sports, and playing games especially Monopoly.

Julie was born in Paris, France and continues to speak french as much as she can. She is currently obtaining her bachelors degree in Human Services with the goal of becoming a social worker.

She started in Real Estate in 2005 as an assistant to a Top Producing Agent. She has done it all from being an assistant, to a closing coordinator, buyers agent, investments and property management. Her background gives her a wide array of knowledge that benefits the company and their clients.
